the delay in responding.....what can I say that has not been said
before by previously satisfied customers......what a terrific
diamond and an equally fantastic setting....the platinum is absolutely
perfect.....everything is indeed WOW !!!!!
Your incredible web site and graphics were the catalyst for pursuing
a diamond purchase thru the internet.....lots of imitators...but
Canada Diamonds is in a league of its own.

Hi John: I received the diamond, it is beautiful. I will be using
it as a charm for a diamond bracelet that I will eventually give
to her. I had a second appraisal done with my jeweler ( I work
in the medical profession and believe in second opinions) and
the diamond is everything it is supposed to be. They had good

Hi,
I was asked by John of Canadian Diamonds to tell you about my
experience with their company.
I had a very good experience. I looked on their website and chose
the diamond that I wanted, then contacted John and we dicussed
the diamond that I wanted to purchase. He was very helpful in
dicussing what I wanted with the diamond that I was looking at.
We (my husband and I) wanted to purchase a diamond to give to
our yet unborn daughter as a Birth day gift for when she is older.
I will be placing the .52 carat radiant cut diamond vs1, E colour
diamond in a charm on a bracelet for her. She is now 2 1/2 months
old and she is my crowning jewel.
I was leary of purchasing a diamond over the internet, that is
why I contacted John by phone first. We decided on the diamond
and sent our bank draft. The diamond was received in 48 hours
by Fed Ex. I wanted to be absolutley sure so I took the diamond
to my jeweler. I have had a fair amount of jewelery made for me
by this jeweler in Victoria. They are an old and reputable company.
I had the diamond appraised by them to see if it was all that
is was supposed to be. My jeweler was impressed with the diamond
and actually appraised the diamond slightly higher than was actually
appraised by the Canadian Diamond Company. He stated that Canadian
Diamonds standards were very high, and that I got a very good
diamond. He asked if I minded if he asked how much I paid for
the diamond. It was appraised at about $4000.00 we paid about
$2100.
I would buy a diamond from this company again if another diamond
is in my future. And diamonds are always in a girl's future.
I hope this helps you decide on your diamond purchase. I would
recommend them.

John, Just wanted to let you know that I visited Michael Cavanaugh
[Vancouver appraiser] yesterday and he told me the diamond is
a fake.
Just kidding! He valued the diamond at $12,200 retail plus taxes
for insurance purposes and figured that the best I could have
purchased the diamond in a store would be around $9,000 plus taxes.
He figured his wholesale cost on a diamond like mine would be
$6100 (50% of full retail)!!!
So needless to say I am very happy and grateful for your help.
I will recommend your service to anyone I know who's in the market
for a diamond and feel free to use me as satisfied customer reference.

I purchased a diamond from John back in late November and I was
very happy with the service and most importantly with the diamond
itself - as a result I am more than happy to give him a good reference.
I'm confident that I could not have purchased the diamond I did
anywhere else for anything close to the price I paid. I have never
met John, but becuase he's local and offers a full money back
guarantee I felt comfortable. As soon as I received the diamond
I took it to an appraiser and was pleasantly surprised. At a place
like Spence Diamond I would have paid twice as much for a much
lower quality diamond.

John asked me to provide you a reference as a customer of CD.com.
(I recently bought a loose diamond for an engagement ring) I'm not
sure where your concerns lie but with me I was definitely a bit
nervous about a couple things:
Will I get what is actually documented ? Yes - The certs are original,
totally legitimate and were confirmed along with the stone by my
local appraiser who incidentally also manufactured the setting for
me. The final appraisal (including the setting) came in significantly
higher than my total actual cost too.
I have to pay in full prior to shipping - what if I don't receive
my stone ? There is always a risk in paying up front for anything
- even local retailers want at least a 50% deposit and they could
close their doors the next day just a easily as a web-front business.
After 20+ emails back and forth with John, I gained the confidence
about the legitimacy of CD that I needed to do business.
What if the stone gets lost during shipping ? CD is fully responsible
until you receive the product. I wired the funds at 11:00 am EST
and received the courier package by 10:30 the next morning. A 24
hour turnaround time is stellar in any business and also a very
short period to "wait and worry". It is a little unnerving paying
this much money for something you haven't even seen yet !!! Common
sense tells us to kick the tires before buying, right ? In this
case, that is not possible. What held me thru this situation is
the fact CD offers a 15 day 100% money back guarantee with no fine
print. Personally I like options that if I'm not completely satisfied,
I can walk away - no questions. I figured this policy gave me an
"out" if I was unhappy with the stone I purchased. Some local stores
only offer a store credit which hooks you in once you've made an
order.
One final interesting thing to note.... when shopping the loose
stone around locally for an appropriate setting I found some retailers
were not very keen on quoting just the "ring" component of the final
product. Seems the most profit for a retailer/jeweller is made on
the stone markup - something CD was able to keep to a bare minimum
due to their wholesaler positioning in the marketplace. Try to find
a local manufacturer (vs a strictly display retailer) and I'm sure
they would be more than happy to help you complete your diamond
package.
Oh ya, almost forgot.... most of the local folks I talked too said
Platinum prices were going up by 15% on March 1st.... so if you
are wanting platinum, try to find a setting already made to avoid
paying for this (supposed?) price increase.
Hopefully this addresses your concerns & good luck in your selection.
